Yonmei's Purple Salad

The Purple Cow


1/2 c. Grape Soda Ice Cubes
2 c. Vanilla Ice Cream Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla

Blend grape soda, vanilla ice cream, ice cubes and vanilla in a blender until smooth. Add milk or ice cubes if too thick.

Purple Thai Napoleon

Purple Thai Napoleon with Fresh Raspberries & Mango


1/4 c. Purple Thai Rice, cooked Raspberries, fresh & diced small
1/4 c. Jasmine Rice Mango, fresh & diced small
2 tsp. Mint, fresh & chopped Creme Fraiche (can substitute with sour cream if necessary)
Juice from one Orange, per 1/2 lb. of rice Powdered Sugar, to taste

1. Cook the Purple Thai Rice (using the "sweet rice" recipe on package) and the Jasmine Blend separately per package directions. Cool.
2. Mix Jasmine blend with fresh squeezed orange juice and mint, set aside.
3. Sweeten creme fraiche with powdered to taste, set aside.
4. Using a 1-1/2 x 2 inch mold (*see notes below), start by placing the Jasmine blend in the bottom (packing each layer lightly) then the raspberries, the Purple Thai rice, sweetened creme fraiche and finish with the fresh mango.
5. Each layer must be lightly packed in.
6. Refrigerate until needed.


Serving Suggestion: Try adding a drizzle of raspberry sauce over the plate before un-molding the Napoleon to serve.

*Make Your Own Mold: Cut 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe into 2 inch pieces to use for mold.

The Purple Store's Variation: Add Violet Food Coloring to the Creme Fraiche for an even more colorful and purple dessert.

Lavender Ice Cream


3/4 c. Honey 2 c. Heavy Cream
1 tsp. Dried Lavender placed in a tea ball or gause 7 egg yolks
1 c. Half and Half

Pour the half and half and the cream into a heavy sauce pan. Add the lavender to this mixture and warm for about 5 minutes. Remove the lavender flowers. Wisk the egg yolks in a bowl until they are frothy. Slowly pour the about half of the warm cream into the mixture of egg yolks as you wisk continuously. Combine the remainder of the yolk and cream mixture into the saucepan and continue to heat on low (stirring constantly) for about 5 minutes. Strain the mixture into a bowl and wisk in the honey. Chill the mixture and then freeze according to the instructions on your ice cream maker. Source:

Purple Buttercream Meringue Icing


1lb. 2oz. Superfine Sugar 3/4 c. Superfine Sugar
1/2 c. Water 2lb. Unsalted Butter
2 Egg Whites 2T Vanilla
1t. Cream of Tartar Violet Food Coloring

Bring butter to room temp.
Combine water and first measure of sugar in saucepan and bring to 242 degrees F. In mixing bowl combine egg whites and cream of tartar. Mix on 10 and slowly add second measure of sugar. Mix until stiff. Bring mixer down to 3, add sugar syrup slowly until incorporated. Let it mix for about 10 minutes. Add butter slowly, breaking off small chunks until it is incorporated. Add vanilla and food coloring. Keep chilled until ready to use. Will freeze well for 4 months. Source:

Purple Whipped Cream


Whipped Cream
Violet Food Coloring

Mix food coloring into whipped cream until desired shade of purple appears. Submitted by: The Purple Store

Yonmei's Purple Salad

Red Cabbage Tomatoes
Red Onion Lemon Juice (can substitue Blood Orange Juice)

Chop cabbage and onions finely. Cut tomatoes into chunks. Mix well. Add a very little white sugar and some lemon juice. Source: Yonmei

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich =
   2 Peanut Butter + 2 Grape Jelly
Hawaiian Smoothie =
   1 Top Banana + 2 Crushed Pineapple + 1 Island Punch

Purple Dinosaur (Alcoholic)


Vodka Orange Juice
Blue Curacao or Schnapps Cranberry Juice
Wildberry Mixer

Pour equal amounts of orange and cranberry juice. Add 1/3 each of Vodka, Blue Curacao (or Schnapps) and Wildberry Mixer.

Serve on the rocks. Traditional

Melenzani la Pasta (Eggplant & Bowtie Pasta)

8oz. Bowtie Pasta Cooked 1/4 to 1/2c. Olive Oil
8oz. Papas Marinated Eggplant Chop Coarse 1/4c. Fine Chop Italian Flat Parsley
4 Large Cloves of Garlic Chop Fine Pinch of Red Pepper, Salt & Black Pepper (to taste)
1/2c. good Parma Romano Grated Cheese

Heat oil in pan or deep skillet add 1/2 of chopped garlic (do not burn)

Add all cooked pasta and toss or fold together add pepper

Add Chopped Eggplant Flat Parsley and rest of garlic toss together turn off heat

Place in heated serving bowl, add Parm Cheese toss together Serve with Crusty bread sticks and Red Wine, Green Salad. Always use Purple serving bowl when possible.
